Red Bull X-Fighters Swatch The Club Event, Madrid, Spain, 17 to 18-JUL-2008

Red Bull X-Fighters flying...

OK, now was the time for some real sports action! This year, the Red Bull X-Fighters FMX event stretched over two nights. During the first night, a qualification round took place and later, a competition for the best trick was held. On both nights, the bullring was completely sold out with about 25000 spectators on each night. Here are some impressions:

The Club Event was officially over after breakfast on the next morning (18-JUL). Fortunately, I was able to spend an extra day in Madrid. I found a huge ad for the Swatch in the pedestrian zone, near the Swatch store.

Time for some more touristic sightseeing:

Parque del Retiro (Retiro Park), a very nice park in the heart of the city

Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace) in the middle of the park

Fortunately, I was also able to join the Grand Final on the second night of the Red Bull X-Fighters event, this time from a different perspective...

spectacular, isn't it?

After a great competition, Mat Rebeaud finished as winner again! With this victory, he also won the whole 2008 tournament round!
