Developed in a joint venture with Mercedes Benz and with its characteristics of innovative design, functionality and consumer benefits, it addressed a new kind of urban user. The Smart Car has been the ideal testimonial of Swatch's capacity to be constructive, creative and different.
With this project, Swatch enabled Mercedes Benz to successfully enter the small car segment.
In 1998, during Swatch's presence as Official Timekeeper for the Goodwill Games, the Smart Car was taken to New York and was the talk of the town!
