Swatch Gold & Pioneer Event 2016

26 to 29-MAY-2016, Lucerne & Interlaken, Switzerland

From 26 to 29-MAY-2015, the traditional Swatch The Club Gold & Pioneer event took place in Lucerne & Interlaken, Switzerland.  About 126 Gold & Pioneer members from all over the world (more than a dozen countries) participated at the event, including four new Gold members from Canada, Italy, Malaysia, and Taiwan.

On thursday in the early afternoon, we met at the very nice **** Hotel Astoria in Lucerne at the welcome desk at the Penthouse Bar on the 8th floor.  Time to say "Hello" to many familiar faces and to swap watches and stuff that had been brought into Switzerland.  And time for a welcome drink of course :-)

The famous Château Gütsch in the back

An hour later, it was time for the first activity:  the Lucerne treasure hunt.  Our large group had been divided (more or less) randomly into a dozen competing teams.  Each team received an iPad which was used to solve location based puzzles in the city of Lucerne.  In addition, we received a map and a small book with instructions.

And then we started the treasure hunt which lasted for exactly 90 minutes.  We took quite a few funny photos (unfortunately, we will never see them I guess), found out about the Brandgässli, looked up for strange pictures on the wall of a few buildings in the old town etc.

After the treasure hunt, it was time for an early dinner at the Hotel Astoria.  The prizes for the treasure hunt were awarded.

At 7pm, we left for the cultural highlight of the Gold & Pioneer Event 2016: A classical concert at the famous KKL concert hall next to the railway station of Lucerne.  I think that this was a first for a Gold & Pioneer Event, I liked the concert a lot.

Time for a group picture!  The weather was fantastic so I hope that the pictures turned out great...
